Day 2 & 3 - Fairytale City
Paris, Venice, Innsbruck, Berlin, Rome and Florence. The specialties of these cities feature throughout this Fairytale Prague. No where near the size however which makes it so simply stunning. Cobblestone streets everywhere, so girls consider those high heels ruined.
We set off on our journey because we have only the afternoon and into the evening to touch on all the major highlights this city has to offer. With comfy walking shoes, we set off.
First up, Anna our friend whose life we have taken over for the weekend and is putting us up, lives in a gorgeous trendy part of Prague. Close by, a local street is closed off for festival with food stalls, music , beer , wine, locally made goods and market stalls. Amongst the crowds we are sinking our first Czech beer.
We wander the streets of the old city under lights, walk the Charles Bridge, view the Prague Castle under the night illumination and take in the fairy tale views.
On Anna's suggestion we head to an old school Czech pub for another brew and traditional Czech meals, we shared a Goulash, Svickova and Roast Duck with bacon dumplings and sauerkraut. Heavy, rich and tasty and oh so good!!

On our second day in Prague out to actually visit the Castle and wander its grounds. We set out on the metro to begin the day. Lo and behold, once on the train I realise that in the jostling to get on my wallet is gone. I then realise that the perpetrators of this fuckery aren't around me, long gone! I contain my anger for falling for one of the oldest tricks in the book so we group at a cafe with wifi so I can do the admin of cancelling all my cards. They picked the wrong el-cheapo tourist here getinng only €35 and some Czech Crowns. As for the cards, they were quick to hit us up!
We basked in the sun as we walked the Castle grounds, visited the armoury, the worlds shortest street, the Old Town Square, Town Hall Clock, lunched in a city vineyard and absorbed the beauty. We many have only been here for a short time but we covered some ground!
We met up with Milan later in the afternoon and caught up on the last 20 years like we only saw each other last month. We are all older, a bit grey, a couple of worldly lines on our faces, but we all still got along like a house on fire!
La vita a vera Bella!
