Day 23 - Positano to Naples

Hip hip horay, it's Andrew's birthday !!!! But I forgot and needed to be reminded. Two days on the beach fried my brain.

We leave Positano by ferry and make our way to Naples. Blow me over.....everything they say about Naples and more is true. Hold onto your bags wallets and anything valuable because we're in for a ride. How best to describe this city - dirty, unsafe, rude Italians, dog shit everywhere (lovely dogs, bad owners), pollution and insane traffic! Welcome to Napoli. Greeted by family, we can relax and be lead to all the best of.
With others taking the reins in the itinerary, I'm like a fish out of water, our first stop is to drop off the bags. Our apartment located in Chiaia, considered a safer part of town and much to the family's worry may not be to our taste in accommodation. They didn't see the place we stayed in Catania, so in comparison this is great !!

We set off on the days adventures, including some serious eating. A local fav of my brother and family who dine here regularly makes for a great introduction to our first Napoletana meal. Cheap, simply  and delicious.

With full bellies, we make our way through the streets taking in the sights, sounds,  smells and stopping for the mandatory good coffee along the way. Oh and stay alert , hold your bags as its dodgy and ruthless everywhere.

The highlight is left for the evening to celebrate Andrews birthday at a superb seafood restaurant overlooking the bay and Naples city lights.
Happy Birthday Andrew, your first visit to Naples.
