Day 25 - Naples to Cassino

My fault for being s relaxed and truly forgetting the time......damn Desigual you distracted me. Andrew on the platform biting his nails and cursing under his breath as I casually stroll to he platform. Final whistle blows and the train is ready to depart. We just made it !,,,

The next leg of our journey takes us to Eileen and Mario's wedding in  Cassino to catch the 3rd leg of their wedding celebration from Melb , KL and now in Italy.

Dodgy people on the train forges a deal that no one nods off on this 2hr trip. It's  too risky- bags secured around our waist, each facing opposite directions "got your back" style and eyes peeled. Even amongst the dodgy types, there appears to be a heirarchy. Three African faces are scoping the train, carriage by carriage, signalling to each other. The dodgy couple sitting behind us are on alert. They get up to sus the situation, we hold our bags tighter. It's the conductor they are all avoiding. It appears the next stop is theirs or not?. The conductor forces that decision regardless. 

Cassino is delighful following the crazy of Naples. The venue, Casale de San Germano is stunning and ideal if setting for the wedding. We meet and greet other guests also attending the wedding,  It is a country location with a residence and restaurant, just beautiful.

We read in our travel guide the history of this magnificent place. Palermo fell first to the Romans, then Arabs , who chose this for their capital. It's so evident the rich history of this powerful city. The city ruins tell the tale of 8th - 15th century palaces and monumental buildings. Today the Sicilians have converted many crumbling yet romantic courtyards into restaurant's and pizzeria's. The famous Godfather church, the killing scene of Michael's brother in law stands before us, definitely a refresher of the movie is in order when we get back home. From palaces and multiple churches, stopping to watch a local wedding where bride, groom and guests are dressed to the nines. How life has changed.
